Catcher from Mets’ 1969 Championship Team Reminisces on “The Morning Show”

June 25, 2019 by helpdesk1

Jerry Grote, the catcher for the Mets’ 1969 championship team, is looking forward to meeting fans later this week as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Amazins’ first World Series win. Grote was a guest yesterday on “The Morning Show” and said while Pete Rose’s gambling should keep him out of the Hall of Fame, players who were linked to steroids should be cut come slack…

In the early days of his pro baseball career, he made 8,000 dollars a year, and worked as a photographer in the off-season. You can hear our entire interview with Jerry tomorrow at 9:30am.
