Callback to Albany Potentially Looms for NYS Lawmakers

One Rockland state lawmaker thinks Albany could be calling them back into session for unfinished business, though it’s not clear for what, or if it’ll happen at all. The session ended last month, but on occasion, the legislature does get called back to wrap up important issues, though more often than not it usually waits until the next session begins in January. 99th district Assemblyman Chris Eachus, who covers Stony Point and portions of Orange County, says he’s pretty sure they won’t be called back to the capital…

97th district Assemblyman John McGowan, who covers Orangetown and portions of Ramapo, says though it’s not likely to be a cause to get called back to the capital, there is one particular issue that is of foremost concern for his constituents…

The new name of the bridge under the latest proposal would combine the “Governor Mario M. Cuomo” name with the identity of the old bridge, simply the Tappan Zee. Some have balked at the potential cost of yet again updating all the signage if the name were to be changed.
