A blood drive is being held in honor of a five year-old local girl who lost her battle with Aplastic Anemia, a rare form of bone marrow failure, just last September. Rona Edwards died from complications related to her treatment, but lived an additional seven months thanks to the generosity of blood and platelet donors. Barbara Noyes runs the Penguin Plunge, and says Rona was going to be one of the Penguin Plunge recipients this year…
Tomorrow’s blood drive is being held at the Nyack Library on South Broadway from 11 to 5pm. Appointments are strongly encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. We have a link to the registration page here.
