Rockland’s Congressman Holds First of Four Town Halls in West Nyack Sunday

April 29, 2025 by Jeff Lewis

Republican congressman Mike Lawler of the Hudson Valley’s 17th district held his first long-awaited town hall of the year Sunday night in Clarkstown. About 100 protestors were gathered outside before the event started to let their opinions be heard. The event itself was occasionally interrupted, with at least one attendee having to be removed by police. Tina Traster is the editor of the Rockland County Business Journal, she attended the event and told “The Morning Show” yesterday that many in the audience were fired up well before they even got there…

Lawler urged people to be respectful of others so that they could get through as many questions as possible, though he frequently had to deal with groans and objections from many in the audience…

That audio courtesy of Forbes Magazine’s YouTube channel. Callers to “The Morning Show” yesterday, some saw the event in person and some didn’t, had their own opinions about the event, the attendees and Lawler…

Three more town halls are slated for other locations in the Hudson Valley later this year, locations and times still to be determined. If you missed Sunday’s event we have a link to Forbes Magazine’s YouTube video here.
