New Hempstead Road in Ramapo had to be closed down temporarily yesterday after a crash involving a driver that was charged with DWI. Ramapo Police say one was injured when a car involved in the crash rolled over. The Hillcrest Fire Department, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedic Services were on scene. No other details were available.
Legoland: its Lego-cy “in” Rockland
Now that Legoland theme park is fully open in Orange County, is there a large ratable that can come to Rockland and make a go of it? There’s concern over future development at Letchworth in North Rockland, the fate of the HNA property in Orangetown is of concern, as is the former Nyack College in Nyack, and the old Novartis site in Ramapo. While Legoland was unique among other potential development projects and would have been difficult to even construct, there are still some who would have loved to have had it here in the county, including Rockland Business Association CEO Al Samuels…

Clarkstown Reduces Hours at Town Pools Due to Lack of Lifeguards
Clarkstown pools have had to curb their hours this summer because they still don’t have enough lifeguards. Supervisor George Hoehmann says there aren’t enough staff to cover enough shifts, so they’ve been opening in the mornings later than usual, and closing earlier in the evenings…

Village of South Nyack to Hold Public Hearing on Dissolution Plan
The village of South Nyack will be holding a public hearing tomorrow on its proposed dissolution plan. Residents voted last year to get rid of the village government, and they’ll be absorbed by the town of Orangetown. Supervisor Teresa Kenny told “The Morning Show” recently that the village board posted the plan on their website for the public to review…
The plan could be decided upon in September. The village’s last official day is expected to be March 31st, 2022. Wednesday’s public hearing is being held at 7:00pm at the Living Christ Church on South Broadway in South Nyack.
