COVID Numbers Start Creeping Up Again, but Area Lawmaker Says No to Lockdowns and Mask Mandates

Though COVID numbers are starting to creep back up as the Delta variant makes its way around the country, a local lawmaker insists going back to wearing masks and lockdowns can’t happen again. Stony Point and Orange County assemblyman Colin Schmitt says we need to move forward…

The state Health Department says the positive COVID-19 infection rate in the Hudson Valley hit 1.1 percent as of Tuesday, up from 0.76 percent the week before. Statewide, the infection rate has jumped to 1.41 percent, with new infections attributed to the Delta variant.

NY Boulders Shut Out NJ Jackals; Look to Sweep Series

Clarkstown Considers Public Hearing Before Making Marijuana Sales Decision

Orangetown bailed out, so did Stony Point. The town of Clarkstown hasn’t decided yet but it looks like they’ll want to hear from residents first on whether to opt in or out of marijuana sales. Supervisor George Hoehmann says they’ll likely hold a public hearing in November…

The town would have to make that decision before the end of the year.
