Area Lawmaker Looks to Bring Universal Pre-K to Entire State, not Just NYC

Lots of bills have been passing through the state legislature since a blue wave took over last Election Day, but there’s one plan an area lawmaker is hoping to get through that hasn’t yet, and that’s Universal Pre-K for the whole state. Rockland State Senator David Carlucci says the city got what the state needs…

Research shows that 85 percent of total brain growth occurs before age five. Kids who attend Pre-K are more likely to read better by third grade, versus those who only go to kindergarten.
