Area Assemblyman Introduces Term Limits Bill

An area assemblyman wants state politicians and some staff members to be limited to amount of time they can serve. Assemblyman Colin Schmitt, whose district covers Stony Point and parts of Orange County, introduced a term limits bill yesterday that would cap legislators in both houses to 4 two-year terms and a two-term limit on each statewide elected office…

Schmitt says politically-appointed staffers often gain power that goes unchecked. His bill would limit them to 12 years of service.
