A new Amazon warehouse has been given the go-ahead in Montgomery, in Orange County. Published reports say the $75 million project was given the go-ahead by the Montgomery Town Board after the town’s Industrial Development Agency approved a more than $20 million tax break on Friday. The Times-Herald Record says 190 acres of trees will have to be cleared near the intersection of routes 17K and 747 to make room for the one million square-foot warehouse, which, when it’s complete, will be the largest building in Orange County. The center will house bulky items such as patio furniture and outdoor equipment. The project is expected to create more than 300 construction jobs and 800 permanent jobs within two years of completion.
