Aluf Plastics Takes Town of Orangetown to Court Over Odor Accusations

June 24, 2020 by helpdesk1

Aluf Plastics in Orangetown has gone to court, claiming the town’s zoning laws that target offensive odors don’t pass the smell test. The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in White Plains. Orangetown supervisor Teresa Kenny says over the last few years area residents have complained about odors coming from the plant just off Route 303…

Aluf told the Westchester Business Journal it’s spent more than $1 million since 2016 upgrading their odor control systems. The company also said it operates in an industrial corridor with other industrial facilities that could generate offensive smells, but haven’t been singled out for scrutiny.
