Aluf Plastics in Orangetown has gone to court, claiming the town’s zoning laws that target offensive odors don’t pass the smell test. The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in White Plains. Aluf told the Westchester Business Journal it’s spent more than $1 million since 2016 upgrading their odor control systems. The company also said it operates in an industrial corridor with other industrial facilities that could generate offensive smells, but haven’t been singled out for scrutiny.
