$7.4 million O&R Battery Storage Project in Pomona Moves Forward

December 4, 2019 by helpdesk1

The Ramapo Planning Board voted 6-0 last month to grant O&R site plan approval and a special use permit, clearing way to begin construction on what is known as the “KCE Pomona” project. Key Capture Energy of Albany will design and operate O&R’s new battery storage project. O&R spokesman Mike Donovan says the project is part of O&R’s “Pomona Non-Wires Alternative” project, designed to help maintain reliable service for O&R customers…

Donovan expects the $7.4 million project to create new jobs and economic opportunity in the region, and it supports New York State’s goal of installing 3,000 megawatts of energy storage throughout the state by 2030.
