New York’s budget deadline has been extended to next week, the tenth, but one local state lawmaker thinks it’s not going to happen. 98th District Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, covering western Ramapo and parts of Orange County, says despite a majority in both houses, the governor has been unable to finalize the budget that she unveiled months ago…
Brabenec likes the governor’s position on making changes to bail reform, but doesn’t like that it is being tied to the budget. If the budget isn’t finalized, temporary spending measures will have to be passed to make sure state employees and bills get paid.
