Rockland’s sheriff is still waiting for material key to the investigation into what went wrong earlier this month when fires broke out along the railroad train tracks from Clarkstown to Stony Point. Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco says CSX has been sent a list of things they need to turn over, but he says the railroad company has yet to comply…
Brush fires broke out the afternoon of Friday April 14th from Congers up to Tompkins Cove, and it’s suspected a passing CSX train had something to do with it. Investigators are looking for video from the train company as well as residents that may have any. If you witnessed anything related to the start of the fires or have video of it, contact the Sheriff’s Department at 845-638-5400. Rockland’s new districted maps have survived a legal challenge and are closer to becoming offical next year. That’s according to the Journal News. The New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division rejected an appeal by Ramapo resident and former Congressional candidate Mike Parietti. He was challening the maps that were redistricted based on the last census as unconstitutional. The maps were approved by the Legislature and signed by County Executive Ed Day in January.

CNN reported that the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office predicts the bill would trim government deficits by $4.8 trillion over 10 years.
