The town of Haverstraw is warning motorists not to use the center turning lane on Route 202 through town to pass slower-moving vehicles. Phillips understands traffic on 202 and 9W can often be a nightmare, but until the roads can be widened, motorists need to follow the rules and stay in the correct lanes.

Chatter around the Sain Building has resurfaced again this month, with talk of an interested party in purchasing the long-dormant former county office building in New City. County Legislator Jim Foley represents District 17, covering a portion of Clarkstown, and says residents there want the building to be on their tax rolls. Foley says he’s not optimistic it can happen, because, as it stands now, those in the legislature that support selling the building are in the minority…
The Sain Building sits across New Hempstead Road from the County’s main offices and has been idle since December 2017. A developer had offered to pay $4.5 million for the property and was going to take care of demolishing the building, but bailed in November 2018.

Rockland Community College is hosting an in-person Open House on the Main Campus in Suffern on Thursday, April 20th, that’s tomorrow. Future students and their families can tour the campus and meet with current students and ask any questions they may have about attending RCC. Representatives from Financial Aid, Student Success and Specialized Services, and Academic Deans will also be available to help students find the right academic program. The Rockland Works Career Fair is coming to Palisades Center in West Nyack tomorrow.
