Two long-time public servants in Ramapo have announced they are stepping down. The Journal News says Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn is leaving the position he’s held for 16 years. He’s been with the department for 31 years, prior to that he was with the Spring Valley Police Department and the Rockland County Narcotics Task Force. Osborn will officially end his tenure sometime next year. Lieutenant Andy Loughlin has officially taken over the day-to-day operation of the department. Over in Sloatsburg the mayor announced he will be ending his tenure at the end of the year. 79-year-old Carl Wright, a life-long village resident, served three times as mayor for a combined three decades: first from 1975 to ’81, then again from ’85 to ’89 and again from 2000 til now. He’s also served in Sloatsburg’s volunteer fire department for 56 years.
