Closings and delays thus far [updated 7:26am 2/28/23):
- School Districts that are closed: Clarkstown Central, South Orangetown Central, Suffern Central, North Rockland Schools, Pearl River, Nanuet Schools, Nyack Schools and Rockland BOCES are closed today, Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
- East Ramapo Central School District Schools will engage in remote learning on Tuesday, February 28. All after-school activities are canceled. The Board Meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday evening has been canceled.
- The North Rockland Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, at the Ileana Eckert Building will be held as scheduled.
- The Nanuet Union Free School District Board of Education will hold a public hearing on February 28, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. just prior to its regular Board Meeting, to solicit public comment on the Senior Citizen Tax Exemption, as well as the Volunteer Firefighter and Ambulance Workers Tax Exemption. The Hearing will take place virtually via Zoom. The link will be posted on the school district’s website.
- The Friends of Harmony Hall Jacob Sloat House in Sloatsburg event, “Mr. Marshall Comes to Hillburn,” originally scheduled for 2/28 @ 7pm, has been moved to Wednesday, 3/1 at 7pm.
- In-person classes and operations at Rockland Community College after 5pm Monday are canceled.
- Dominican University’s offices will be closed Tuesday, February 28. Online courses will meet as scheduled. Other nontraditional students not on Spring Break will be contacted by their faculty regarding classes.
- Rockland Health Clinics are canceled, but the department is open.
- JCC Rockland will open Tuesday at 9:00am for members and 9:30am for children who attend the Deborah Koenig Early Childhood Center.
- The Haverstraw King’s Daughters Public Library will be opening at 1pm on Tuesday, February 28th.
- Tuesday, 2/28: Foster Grandparent Program of Haverstraw (CLOSED)
- Tuesday, 2/28: Jawonio in New City: All children’s programs closed; Adult services remote; Article 16 remote until noon; All other staff Jawonio is on a 2-hour delay. Staff who can work remote, please contact your supervisors.
- Monday night, 2/27: RCC Board of Trustees meeting (CANCELED)
