Hand it to Hanok, Rockland has been blanketed with about 3 inches or so of snow, just as he predicted. We finally have the winter we haven’t had at all now that we’re on the edge of March. The power is reportedly mostly intact thus far as the snow has picked up again here in Garnerville, but there are exceptions, including 186 customers in the Ramapo Cirque area in Suffern, a small pocket in Rockleigh, New Jersey, where reportedly there are 41 customers without power, and a few in Nanuet and New Hempstead. The snow started around 7:30 last night, and in many places it’s a wet, heavy snow, and it’s bending some trees over as the weight piles on. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht is in a similar position with his highway department, and if today’s storm is the last one of the season, they’ll be in good shape next winter…
The snow has resulted in some closings and cancellations. See our website for complete details. We’ll also run down the list during “The Morning Show.”
