A local lawmaker has secured $150,000 in grant money to help local law enforcement in their fight on crime. At a press conference Monday, Rockland State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick said the money would be used to purchase and install equipment for a new state-of-the-art fitness training facility at the Rockland Police and Public Safety Academy for new recruits and current police officers in the county…
Rockland sheriff Lou Falco said the money isn’t only going to help new recruits…
Falco said a new hybrid vehicle will also be bought to support the Regional Entry and Counter Terrorism Team, also known as REACT. Over the summer, a U.S. News and World Report analysis ranked Rockland the third safest county in the nation.
