The Rockland County legislature last night unanimously approved a slightly amended 2025 County Budget. It includes a two percent property tax cut, more funding for nonprofits and a new county-wide sidewalk initiative. The County Executive has five working days to issue any line-item vetoes. The Legislature then has until December 20th to override any of those vetoes. It takes a two-thirds vote per veto item to override a veto.
