The East Ramapo school district board of education has approved a plan that would allow private summer camps to lease school properties, even though, the Journal News reports, most public school students are unable to attend summer school due to coronavirus safety measures. The three board members who voted against the plan questioned the economic benefit, whether it was fair to let private concerns use the facilities, and the COVID safety issues.
