DirecTV Offers Customers $20 Credit During Blackout Battle with Disney

September 6, 2024 by Jeff Lewis

DirecTV is offering its 11 million pay-TV subscribers who have lost their Disney-owned TV channels, including ESPN, a $20 credit as the blackout continues. That’s according to USA Today. The two companies are battling over their contract, which expired September 1st. Disney pulled their channels off the service provider, including the ABC Network, Disney Channel, FX, Disney Junior, Freeform, National Geographic, and more. WRCR market analyst Ken Mahoney of Mahoney Asset Management in Chestnut Ridge says both sides need to hammer out an agreement soon…

Customers are reportedly growing increasingly impatient as college and pro football seasons are now underway. Disney wants DirecTV to pay more to carry their channels and DirecTV is balking at paying up.
