Rockland Democrats are looking for a new venue to hold their nominating convention. The convention was supposed to be held today, but The Journal News says concerns over COVID forced the party to seek a change of venue, to have it outdoors next month, instead of indoors. In her first address to the state Tuesday, governor Kathy Hochul said it’s important to require vaccinations for all school personnel with an option to test out weekly, and institute universal masking for anyone entering school buildings…
Hochul also added nearly 12,000 more COVID deaths to the publicly-reported count. Around 55,400 people have died from coronavirus here in New York. Hochul said the Cuomo administration had not disclosed the same number of deaths to the public that had been submitted to the CDC.
