Safety Tips from O&R
Don’t touch or approach any downed wire. Assume it is energized and dangerous. Call O&R immediately toll-free 1-877-434-4100. Depending on the situation, you may also want to call your local police to divert traffic until an O&R crew arrives.

Jawonio: Children’s programs will start at 11AM. There are no El or Pre-K morning sessions.

UPDATE: Friday 1/5/18 School Closings and other Cancellations

CLOSED: Clarkstown Central School District

2-HOUR DELAY: East Ramapo Central School District, Nanuet School District, North Rockland Central School District, Nyack Public Schools, Pearl River School District, South Orangetown Central School District, Suffern School District: “There will be no afternoon pre-kindergarten at Viola Elementary, and the morning pre-kindergarten class should report to Viola at 12:15pm.”

Also: Albertus Magnus High School (Scholarship testing is being rescheduled for Monday, January 8th); Rockland BOCES (all programs)

OTHER (Thursday, 1/4/18)

TOR routes #59, 91, 97 & TZx buses begin LIMITED service at 5:30 pm. Expect delays. All other routes closed today.

TOR route #93 begins LIMITED service at 5:30 pm, with routes #59, 91, 97 & TZx. Other routes remain suspended due to road conditions.

TOR Loop 3 service into all apartment complexes is suspended until further notice due to road conditions. Expect delays on other routes also.

The Town of Clarkstown remains officially open today, January 4, 2018.  The Clarkstown Highway Department is working tirelessly to keep our roads cleared.  Residents are asked to please be patient as they work to do so.  Residents are reminded to please remove any vehicles from the roadway, as this slows down the snow removal process.

 Please note the following for Thursday, January 4, 2018:

  • Town remains officially open.
  • Justice Court is OPEN.
  • The following court sessions are still scheduled: Small Claims Court at 9:30AM, Traffic Court at 1:30PM and 7:30PM. Please call the court if you need to reschedule at 845-639-5960.
  • Mini Trans is operating on normal schedule today, except the A bus is using Rt. 303 instead of Mountainview Ave. and Christian Herald Rd. in Valley Cottage.
  • All Senior club meetings and programs are cancelled today.
  • Pre-school is cancelled today.
  • Parks Board and Recreation Commission Meeting is cancelled tonight.
  • All Parks and Recreation programs for today are cancelled.
  • At this time, all Clarkstown Recreation Community Centers will open as normal at 2pm.  However, please call the centers before arrival to confirm.

  • If your garbage and/or recycling were not picked up, it will be picked up on your next regularly scheduled pick up.

Residents should contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 639-5800 for any emergency.


TOR Loop #1 and Loop #2 bus routes are suspended until further notice due to road conditions. Go to www.rocklandbus.com for updates.


Stony Point Justice Court for 1:30 cancelled today


Tonight’s Haverstraw Reorganization meeting is cancelled and re-scheduled for Monday night 1/8 at 7pm.


Orangetown Jewish Center’s afternoon religious school is closed.


TRIPS bus service is suspended until 9 am today Thursday 1/04. Rides scheduled before 9 will not be picked up.


Jawonio is open, however, some programs will be impacted today: there is a 2 hour delay for PreSchool, Early Intervention classes and Rockland Day Services Transportation

All Rockland school districts were closed today, including, Rockland BOCES (all programs) and Albertus Magnus High School.
