A Haverstraw man has been indicted for a fatal hit-and-run on Christmas Eve that killed a 35-year-old Stony Point mom. After he was caught, 27-year-old Jorge Flores-Villalba was initially released from jail without bail because of criminal justice reforms that were days away from becoming law, but he was soon taken into custody by ICE and is now being held in Orange County.

Clarkstown Supervisor to Stay Put — He’s No Longer Running for State Senate
Clarkstown’s supervisor has decided to stay where he is and not run for state senate. George Hoehmann had thrown his hat into the ring last month to run for the seat being left vacant by David Carlucci, who is running for Nita Lowey’s Congressional seat. On his Facebook page this morning, Hoehmann said he still has work to do in Clarkstown and prefers to remain there. A new Republican candidate for the 38th Senate District is expected to be announced in the near future.
