Area officials are looking for answers form the feds regarding flights into Westchester County Airport that reportedly brought in illegal immigrants. Published reports say the passengers are minors who were separated from their families while illegally crossing the southern border. North Rockland and Orange County Assemblyman Colin Schmitt says this occurred without notice to the local officials and they are a clear threat to the health and safety of the region. Rockland Congressman Mondaire Jones says he and other area congressional representatives were told of the flights, which he said are legal and followed Health and Human Services policy. An HHS representative says the children are being reunited with relatives and legal sponsors throughout the country.
