Report: Judge Tells Pomona to Pay Congregation $2.4 million in Legal Fees

A federal judge says Pomona must pay a rabbinical college nearly $2.5 million in legal bills stemming from a zoning dispute over a construction project. The Journal News reports that’s half the amount the Congregation Rabbinical College of Tartikov was hoping for. They challenged Pomona’s zoning laws as discriminatory. The 13 year-old lawsuit has thus far cost the village $5 million. The village can appeal the judge’s ruling. The congregation still hasn’t submitted site plans for any buildings for the 130-acre property in the area of Route 202 and 306.
