O&R Warns of Payment Scam: We Don’t Accept Pre-Paid Debit Cards

O&R is warning of a scam going around that’s trying to separate you from your money, and it’s not just kids pulling a prank. Here’s how it works: you get a call from a person claiming to be from the electric company, and they threaten to turn off your power if you don’t immediately pay your bill using a pre-paid debit card. O&R’s Mike Donovan says the company never accepts payment by pre-paid debit cards…

Donovan says just hang up, and if you’re concerned, check your balance online at ORU.com or call O&R’s automated phone system at 1-877-434-4100.
