Stony Point to Host “Polar Parade,” Blood Drive

The third time should be the charm for the Stony Point Seals this year. Last week their Polar Parade was cancelled due to the weather. Last week’s parade had been bumped from the previous Sunday when the weather was also bad. The “Polar Parade” for four year-old town resident Oscar Beckman replaces their traditional annual plunge fundraiser, which had to be scrapped due to COVID-19. So Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan says the Seals will give the parade a go again this Sunday…

The “Polar Parade” will feature fire engines, police cars, EMS vehicles, the NAM Knights, and anyone else who wants to join in the parade. Visit StonyPointSeals.com to learn more about Oscar and the group.

And the Stony Point PBA is hosting a blood drive on Monday from 3:30-8pm in the RHO Building at Patriot Hills. Monaghan says it’s in memory of Jimmy McNicholas, a North Rocklander who was killed 12 years ago by a hit-and-run driver in Pearl River…

Many community blood drives have had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 in the past year, resulting in a blood shortage.
