Stronger UK Strain of COVID Found in Westchester, Rockland Officials Frustrated with NYS Vaccine Plan

There are now 18 known cases of the stronger UK strain of the COVID-19 virus in New York, the most recent one was found in Westchester. Over the weekend the governor continued to blame the feds for a lack of vaccine here in the state, and on top of that, the state’s website is giving people major headaches when it comes to registering for an appointment. In other parts of the state, North Rockland and Orange County state senator James Skoufis says he hears vials of vaccine are going unused, calling the whole situation “incredibly troublesome”…

Rockland County Executive Ed Day agrees, the state’s website can be confusing…

Day says seniors who are having trouble navigating the website can get help from the Rockland County Office for the Aging. Call them at 845-364-2110. COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost one more to COVID, the total is 806. We’ve got 89 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 2,786 active cases. Our total case count is 31,061, that’s 291 more than Friday.
