Ramapo to Hold Workshop and Potential Vote Wednesday on Northeast Corridor Draft Environmental Document

The town of Ramapo is holding a workshop and could be voting on a draft environmental document that could reset the zoning in the northeast part of the town. That could pave the way for the development of open space for high-density housing and a private school campus. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht says there’s a range of options that could take place in the Pomona area being considered…

Attorney Susan Shapiro represents the environmental group ROSA, and says what’s been presented thus far, isn’t sufficient…

Ramapo attorney Dennis Lynch says the scoping process has been around for about two years, and they’re only at square one…

Lynch says the different projects’ impact on other parts of town is also being looked at. The northeast corridor includes the old Minisceongo Golf Course, the Striker property off Route 45 in Pomona, and land near the Gracepoint Gospel Church on New Hempstead Road in New City. The Ramapo meeting is being held via zoom Wednesday night at 7pm. We have a link to the info in this news article on our website. ROSA is holding a Zoom meeting tonight at 7pm to discuss this and other projects. Visit ROSA4Rockland.org for more information, or click here.
