Area Lawmaker “Has Seen Enough” of the 1-b COVID Vaccine Roll-out, Wants a Central Vaccination Center in Rockland

Thanks to computer glitches and a lack of phone assistance, a local lawmaker says the 1-b roll-out of the COVID vaccine is not working. This part of the process includes people 75 and older, first responders, public safety, transit and education workers. Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski says he’s seen enough, noting many are frustrated and confused about what to do. Zebrowski is calling on the State Health Department to establish a Rockland County vaccination center to take control of the local vaccination logistics…

In his State of the State address yesterday, New York governor Andrew Cuomo said we have about one million doses in the state but around four million eligible people, and the federal government only gives us 300,000 doses each week. Cuomo implored New Yorkers to hang in there…

The Rockland County Department of Health ran out of their 1,000 dosage allotment of the Moderna vaccine on Friday, and could get more by tomorrow.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost three more to COVID, the total count stands at 793. We’ve got 107 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 2,854 active cases. Overall, we’ve had 30,015 reported cases, 571 more than Monday.
