Rockland Loses Four More to COVID as Cases Continue to Rise; Governor Calls 2020 “The Most Traumatic Year in Decades”

2020 was the most traumatic year in decades. That’s the opinion of New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who said yesterday in his coronavirus press conference that the challenges for 2021 include the slow pace nationwide of the vaccination process thus far…

As of yesterday, Cuomo said more than 200,000 New Yorkers have been given their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Cuomo also said he is signing an Executive Order giving an additional 30 days of death benefits for families of front line government workers. The current bill providing the benefits would have expired today.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost four more to COVID since yesterday, the total count stands at 767. We’ve got one hospitalized being examined, another 88 there are confirmed cases, and a total of 2,293 active cases. Overall, we’ve had 27,193 reported cases, 267 more than Wednesday.
