Rockland COVID “Red Zone” Improving, But Remains Red While Orange’s Moves to “Orange”

New York’s governor gave the “Red Zone” micro-cluster in Orange County the go-ahead to move to an “Orange Warning Zone” after going from a positivity rate of 12 percent to 2 percent in three weeks with a flattened hospital admissions curve. Governor Andrew Cuomo said while the Rockland and Brooklyn “Red Zones” have shown improvement, the numbers aren’t yet good enough to move out of red.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got 24 in the hospital confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 843 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 17,943 reported cases, 111 more than Wednesday, and the death count since the pandemic began remains at 684.
