Area Lawmaker Applauds DOJ Investigation into COVID Nursing Home Deaths

The Department of Justice’s review of deaths in New York and other states’ nursing homes during the COVID pandemic is welcome news to at least one area lawmaker. Stony Point and Orange County assemblyman Colin Schmitt says New Yorkers deserve answers…

The DOJ said Wednesday they’re looking for data from COVID-19 deaths at nursing homes in four states, to determine whether an investigation is necessary.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got two in the hospital being examined, another four have been confirmed with coronavirus. The state says we’ve got 14,183 reported cases, 22 more than yesterday, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 674 fatalities here in the county, no change since Tuesday four weeks ago.
