NY Report Points to Asymptomatic Nursing Home Visitors and Staff for COVID Deaths

The New York State Health department issued a report yesterday blaming COVID-19 in nursing homes on infected staff rather than hospital re-admissions. In a press conference yesterday, governor Andrew Cuomo said the virus may also have come from asymptomatic nursing home visitors, earlier than anyone initially thought…

Prior to yesterday’s announcement, Western Ramapo and Orange County state assemblyman Karl Brabenec said Cuomo generally prefers to blame anyone but himself…

Brabenec says an independent hearing should be conducted to see what went wrong in the state’s nursing homes. More than four in 10 COVID-19 deaths in the state have been in nursing homes.
