Governor Defends Nursing Home Procedures; Calls Continued Attacks Political

In what may have been one of his last daily coronavirus press briefings yesterday, governor Andrew Cuomo continued to defend the state’s handling of seniors in nursing homes during the COVID-19 outbreak. Cuomo insisted the state followed CDC guidance for nursing homes, which accounted for more than 6,000 coronavirus deaths. Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa called it a selective political attack by Republicans…

The governor also announced tomorrow he is turning “the page on the immediacy of this crisis” and ending his daily briefings.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, the state has confirmed over 385,000 total cases and more than 24,600 deaths. In Rockland, the numbers are up slightly again…with 13,467 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 666 fatalities here in the county.
