Rockland and Mid-Hudson Region Entering Phase Two; Malls Still Unable to Re-Open

Rockland and the mid-Hudson region are entering phase two today. That means restrictions are loosened for non-essential businesses including real estate, hair salons, car dealerships and some retail, which can open as long as they follow the proper social distancing guidelines and offer curb-side pick-up. Malls are still prohibited from opening, and Palisades Center and others around the state aren’t happy about that. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says the governor’s approach lately hasn’t been consistent…

Julene Finley is the owner of Color Me Mine, at Palisades Center. Finely says it’s unfair that if she were located in a street venue, she’d be able to open today…

Finley says her seven employees have been collecting unemployment, but she’d like to be able to give them their jobs back, but she can’t do that until she’s permitted to re-open her business.
