NY Extends Moratorium on Evictions 60 Days

The state’s moratorium on COVID-related residential or commercial evictions has been extended another 60 days. In his daily coronavirus press briefing yesterday, New York governor Andrew Cuomo said renters who face financial hardships can’t be slapped with fees for missed payments, though he admitted, that doesn’t help landlords who also have bills to pay…

Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci recently introduced legislation that would help financially-strapped New Yorkers and small businesses with their property tax bills. The bill would delay quarterly installment payments of county, town, village, and school property taxes through December 31, 2020. COVID-19 by the numbers, the state now has confirmed around 327,000 total cases of coronavirus across the state and 20,800 deaths. In Rockland, the state says we’ve got nearly 12,300 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 557 deaths here in the county.
