Clarkstown Police and School District Investigating Swastika Found Drawn on Student’s Desk

Clarkstown Police and the school district are investigating a swastika that was found drawn on a desk at South High School this week. In a letter posted on the district’s website, Principal Deb Tarantino and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Martin Cox said the drawing was “offensive” and “hurtful” and won’t be tolerated. They’ve reached out to the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education to hold a presentation for students and explain how it’s a symbol of hate and what it means to many people today.
