NY Gov Presents 2021 Budget

New York’s governor presented his proposed budget for the 2021 fiscal year yesterday. Just shy of 179 billion dollars, Andrew Cuomo’s spending proposal includes 33 billion to combat climate change, 28.5 billion for education and 25 million to beef up security at non-public schools and cultural organizations that could be targeted for hate crimes…

On bail reform, Cuomo called it an on-going process and changes to it should respond to facts, not hyperbole. Western Ramapo and Orange County assemblyman Karl Brabenec says the law should have been presented to everyone for review first and voted-on as a stand-alone bill…

The state is also trying to grapple with a reported budget shortfall of a reported four billion dollars linked to increased Medicaid costs. Rockland County Executive Ed Day told “The Morning Show” it’s a time bomb waiting to blow…

The budget also cuts one billion dollars in assistance to local governments.
