NY Governor to Outline Priorities for 2020

New York’s governor will be outlining his policy priorities for 2020 in his State of the State address today. Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci says he’s not sure if plans to legalize recreational marijuana would resurface, after being shelved last year following pushback and a failed attempt at legalization in New Jersey…

Among his priorities that he’s been previewing over the last few weeks, the governor has proposed an expanded Penn Station project, a crackdown on illegal cigarette sales, a comprehensive legislative package to fight robocalls, the preservation of 4,000 acres of open space in the Mid-Hudson Valley including Sterling Forest, and a $14 million project to build a new Mid-Station Lodge at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort to replace the old one that was destroyed by a fire in November.
