Delay for Criminal Justice Reforms Not Likely, Predicts Rockland County Executive

It’s not likely the state legislature will delay the implementation of new laws that could upend the criminal justice system. Many law enforcement groups across the state have been seeking a moratorium so that they could provide input before the laws are enacted. The bill was pushed through the budget process last spring with no public discussion. Advocates of the changes argue they are long overdue and will help bring fairness to the criminal justice system.
