Rockland Boulders and Can-Am League Merge with Frontier League, Forming 14-Team “Super League”

The Can-Am league, the independent baseball league the Boulders play in, is merging with the Frontier League, forming what officials are calling a “Super League.” 14 teams will make up what is now the largest league in all of Independent Professional Baseball. Frontier League Commissioner, Bill Lee, says the move has been on the drawing board for about two years…

Boulders’ V-P of Business Development Seth Cantor says several rules that differed between the two leagues will still need to be worked out, including the age of the players, and the format for the playoffs…

Team president Shawn Reilly expects the move to bring better players and games for the fans, but he doesn’t think it’ll stop there…

Teams are in several large cities including Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Quebec City and St. Louis. The 96-game season will run from mid-May through September.
