NJ Man Gets Probation for Fatal “One-Punch” of Friend During Brawl in Pearl River

Two men, friends from New Jersey, got into a brawl last summer in Pearl River. 22 year-old Douglas Guido of Hasbrouck Heights got three years’ probation and 60 days weekend work-release for fatally punching his best friend, 21 year-old Richard Hess of Norwood, during a drunken fight outside The Saloon in Pearl River. The Journal News said the prosecutor was unable to charge Guido with a felony since it was only a single punch.
