Valley Cottage Man Gets Three Years in Prison on Securities Fraud and Failure to Pay Payroll Taxes

A Valley Cottage man got three years in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to securities fraud and failing to pay payroll taxes at the College of New Rochelle. The U-S Attorney for the Southern District of New York announced yesterday that 63 year-old Keith Borge, the former controller of the college, failed to pay more than $20 million in federal and state payroll taxes and contributions for nearly a two-year period beginning in August of 2014. He also cooked the school’s books and records to conceal the college’s actual financial condition. He pleaded guilty in March. The college, now closed, has been absorbed by Mercy College.
