BRIDGES to Celebrate 29th Anniversary of ADA at Palisades Center Friday

The 29th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act is being celebrated tomorrow by BRIDGES, Rockland County’s Independent Living Center. The ADA provides for national standards to help eliminate discrimination against people with disabilities. Carlos Martinez is BRIDGES’ Executive Director, and says the ADA is meant to prevent situations we sometimes don’t even consider, for example, hosting a party at a location that isn’t wheelchair-accessible…

The event will be honoring five people who serve as mentors and supporters for people with disabilities. It gets underway at 10 tomorrow morning at Palisades Center in the East Court on Level One.
