Legislative leaders in Albany Friday passed the Housing Stability and
Tenant Protection Act of 2019, governing rent-controlled apartments in the
city. While the law deals with around 900,000 apartments that were built
in the city before 1974, Naomi Streicher of Realty Teams in Pomona says

new law in court. They say it could lower rents and offer greater
protections for some, but the cost would be deteriorating buildings and
less supply overall.
