Metro-North to Move Train Engineers to West-of-Hudson Lines

Metro-North and its union, the Association of Commuter Rail Employees, reportedly agreed to bring reserve locomotive engineers to west-of-Hudson rail service to cut down on cancelled trains that have frustrated commuters for years. The Journal News first reported the deal late last week, which said six engineers would be moved to regular shifts on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines in the near future. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the deal is good for Rockland commuters, but it’s not nearly enough…

All of the work needed for the completion of the positive train control installation must be completed by the end of 2020.
