Rockland Ties for Second Lowest Unemployment Rate in NY

Rockland County is in a three-way tie for the lowest unemployment rate in the state, and just a smidge out of the top spot. While Nassau County led the way with 3.3%, the State Department of Labor reported Rockland, Dutchess and Saratoga counties clocked in at 3.5% in March. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says various partnerships with organizations throughout the Hudson Valley helped make it happen…

Ramapo communications director Phil Tisi says the town’s unemployment rate came in at 3.1%, compared to last year when it was 3.6%…

And it’s not stopping there. The Rockland County Youth Bureau wants employers from the private sector, local government, and not-for-profit agencies to participate in the 2019 Youth Employment Program. Participating employers would get various benefits, including reimbursement of up to 100% of hirees’ salaries. For more information contact the Youth Bureau at 845-364-2929.
