Rockland Heads to Court to Appeal Measles State of Emergency Ban; Confirmed Cases up to 190

Rockland’s appeal of a judge’s move to lift the measles state of emergency is expected to be argued in court tomorrow. Rockland County’s Health Commissioner on Tuesday launched two new orders, one requiring people with or exposed to the measles to stay away from public places for up to 21 days, except for medical or legal issues, and to provide the health department with details of their illness. The second order requires students in the 10952 and 10977 zip codes to have their MMR vaccinations or stay home. There are now 190 confirmed cases in the county.
